Made from the world's best varieties of carob, PARPIS Carob Syrup is a healthy, natural product rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, proteins and carbohydrates. Enjoy it as a sweetener for cakes, breakfast cereals and hot drinks, or simply as a refreshing drink mixed with cold water or milk. PARPIS Grape Syrup is 100% pure, made the traditional way from select grapes, for which Cyprus has been famous for centuries. Diluted with water it makes a refreshing drink, and it is a natural sweetener for traditional sweets such as moustokouloura.
Use it to make the traditional Cypriot sweets soutzoukos, kiofteri and palouze (moustalevria) by diluting 1 part PARPIS grape syrup in 2 to 2½ parts water. See the moustalevria recipe in our Recipes section.

The carob tree has grown in Cyprus since antiquity, where it is known as "teratsia", from the ancient Greek word kerátion. The word "carat" comes from kerátion too, because the carob seed was once the smallest unit of weight for gold and precious stones.
